Amazon Echo HA Bridge issues

Trying to follow along to the directions at http://tinsley.io/2015/06/control-your-items-using-the-amazon-echo-openhab/ but having an issue. When I try to connect in Postman I get ‘Could not get a response’ It looks like maybe I’m getting an error upon installation?

First one being aboout address already in use. Looks like its trying to use 8080 even though I say to use 8081?

Nevermind I think I got it. Now just need to figure out how to do everything in Postman. What to send etc

Glad you got it working. I used that method when I first started out with OpenHAB 1. When I moved over to OpenHAB 2 I used the Hue Emulation binding. It’s pretty easy to setup and works great. So if your using OpenHAB 2 or thinking of making the change I would give it a try.

That Hue Emulation sounds promising, Installed in through misc extensions in PaperUI.
But when I add a ‘tag’ to an item, everything stops working (well, the three I can see from the couch anyways. HabDroid says they turn on, but they don’t. Is my edited item misconfiured somehow?

Instead of “Lighting” did you try “Switchable” as a tag?

Switchable doesn’t work either. Seems giving them at tag at all causes the items to completely stop working.
Edit: Got it. the tags need to go after the groups in order for the bindings to still work. Also need to turn pairing on in the emulation settings in order for Alexa to find them.
