Android app and animated GIF

Hey guys,

is there any particular reason why my Android app (lastest OpenHAB from Play Store) does not show GIFs animated and, instead, only shows the first frame?

Yes, nobody has implemented this yet. :laughing: I’ll give it a try.

Looks like an old thread, but I arrived here as I was also looking for displaying gifs in the (android) app. Any update on this.

I know this is a very old thread, but I still see this problem today with the Android App. I’m using the IPCamera Binding which allows creation of animated GIF images from a security camera. Using an Image item I can see the animation fine in a chrome browser, but not the Android App (just the first frame as mentioned above). Is there any hope of a fix for this?
