As seen on the screen shot below, the upper cm of my screen is unused. I don’t remember it being that way before…
Does anyone recognize this behavior?

It’s a change in new WebView versions and will be fixed in the next beta release of the app via this PR.

How exactly do these ‘beta releases’ work?
Also, I see the last update of my Android openHAB app dates back to 4 February 2025. Any idea of a timetable for the next ‘official’ update?
Update to beta means ‘manually install APK from GH releases page’. We used to have a beta channel on Google Play IIRC, but there were some issues with that.
@mueller-ma might be able to fill in some details about that and the release schedule.
Some years ago the beta version was published as a second app, but Google removed it, because it was too similar to the stable version. You must publish beta releases via the beta channel they said (and still https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.beta …)
Some time later I started using the beta channel feature, but as putting beta releases on Play Store needs manual interaction, I only do this right before a new stable release.
F-Droid still has beta releases as second app and that’s fully automated.
Any idea when that next release might be?
