:warning: IMPORTANT
Older Solarbank generations (for example SB2/SB3) currently do not expose Modbus on Anker firmware side. Without vendor Modbus support, they cannot be supported by this binding.

Status: Draft PR is open.
CI test artifact will be added here as soon as the workflow is approved by a maintainer.

I am preparing a new Anker SOLIX Modbus binding and would really appreciate community testing and feedback.

Supported devices

  • Solarbank 4 E5000 Pro
  • Solarbank Max AC / XE AC
  • Smart Meter Gen 2
  • Smart Plug
  • V1 Smart EV Charger

Requirement

  • The openHAB Modbus binding must be installed.

Included

  • Discovery
  • Read channels for supported devices
  • Write channels for selected Solarbank, Smart Plug, and EV Charger functions

Please report

  • Device model and firmware version
  • openHAB version
  • What works (discovery/read/write)
  • What does not work (logs are very welcome)

Is it planned to release the Anker SOLIX Modbus binding with openHAB 5.3?

No, probably not, since I haven’t found anyone yet who has tested the binding in a real-world scenario. Unfortunately, I didn’t end up buying a new Solarbank myself, so I can’t test it personally.

I just synced the binding with the latest changes to the official HA integration and generated a new test build.

I’m currently looking into buying a unit. Good to see there is a draft PR, integration with openHAB is just a matter of time as the unit is popular.
Anyway, did you buy a different brand/model ? I am considering either the Marstek Venus E3 and this Anker Solix Solarbank Max AC, so if you have some good advice, i’ll appreciate it.

For cost-effectiveness and personal setup reasons, I decided not to upgrade to a new system for now.

Every setup has different requirements. Whether it’s the feature set, form factor, or price per kWh. But it’s really great to see manufacturers increasingly opening up to smart home integration via local APIs!

Because of those individual factors, I can’t make a specific recommendation.
