Asking after seeing a lot of threads with reliability issues, depending on the firmware version being used.
Has anyone written a rule to check and log the status of their sensor? Yes, the sensor already has logging parameters that determine when individual measures are reported, but not general operational status, apart from online versus not. Perhaps there is not a way, but thought I would ask if anyone is doing a rule for something like this. If so, please share? Thanks
Not for this sensor in specific, but genetically I set an expire on at least one item related to the device and it’s it remains unupdated for too long set it to undef. Then I use the Open Door Reminder rule template
from the marketplace to update a Switch item and send an alert.
