Got a strange problem that literally happened over night.
OpenHab V1 shows: network not available
OpenHab shows: no connection
Browser working flawless
All pointing to 192.168.1.49:8080
On wife’s iOS OpenHab V1 it’s working. And if I restart OH over console I can connect again also with my phone, but behavior returns after 2 days. What’s going on here?
Difference I can see is „Allways send credentials“ which i have disabled.
Also I have „ Ignore SSL …“ enabled.
Any reason you are using legacy app on iOS 26.x ?
Same here. My wife just moved away from Android to an iPhone 17 with iOS 26.3 and neither V1 nor V2 of the iOS OpenHAB app are able to connect to my OpenHAB server.
Connection via webbrowser works.
Would be happy to understand how to get it working
@ohb1138 Does your openHAB server show up in the Bonjour browser of the v2 app, and what is the result of tapping the Connection Check icon, both close to the URL field label?
But I can access my OpenHAB instance on the iPhone via webbrowser.
Historically I am using not the standard port 8080 but a different port. But this is no issue on the Android app and hence I do not consider this a problem on iOS.
Anything more that I can test to help finding the issue?
Could it then be that you, or your spouse, possibly denied access to the local network when iOS Privacy & Security asked you about this in a dialog the very first time the openHAB app was opened on said iPhone?
You can check and toggle this permission under Setting > Privacy & Security > Local Network.
I did not find OpenHAB in Settings > Privacy & Security, hence it seems not to have the persmissions set. Then I went to the app settings and found it deactive. I have swiped the slider for “Local Network” to green and now it works.
