Is it possible in openHAB to detect the device type that the UI is being rendered on? I want to be able to set Visibility on some Sitemap elements based on whether it’s being rendered on a PC desktop or on a mobile device (phone or tablet).
Thanks.

That may be possible with HABPanel with some suitable device/browser detection js scripting.
But not with the Classic and Basic UIs.
Have a look at this guys work, may have something useful.

Hey guys, i finally got around to put my stuff into a public repo, here you go:
Readme openhab2_pub_001
based on OpenHAB2 2.4.0+ using JSR223 Javascript for rules. You need a current openhab2-2.4.0.* snapshot to run, due to changes in the JSR223 Scripting engine.
this is a work in progress, don’t hesitate to file issues for any questions / bugs / ideas or contact me over at the OpenHAB community site <a href="https://community.openhab.org/t/hacking-basicui-my-bas…
