It seems like my Zwave dongle Aeotec Z-Stick 5 has died and I need a replacement and I don’t see that the same device is still available. Can I replace it with an Aeotec Z-Stick 7 Plus
I don‘t know about a 7+ version, but the usb stick version 7 works pretty good with zwave-js-ui.
The binding supports series 7 and series 8 controllers with some limitations. From the readme:
Note: As of OpenHAB 4.1 Controllers based on Silabs SDK 7 are partially supported. For SDK 7 controllers “Classic” inclusion (node numbers 1-232) is supported, but the higher power Long Range inclusion (node numbers over 255) is not.
I’m told the same is true for series 8 controllers.
If i’d purchase a new controller today I’d go for the Z-Station, seems like a very nice piece of hardware!
It does and I bought the Z-Station as their web site claims Openhab support but the documentation is lacking. the device is connected and the ports appear. Z_Way is installed on the R-Pi, the Z-Way Server is installed and claims to on-line in Openhab but the Z-Way app on the Pi seems to mostly refuse to see the Z-Station. Hopefully support responds soon so I can get it working.
