Blockly issues after OH4 upgrade

Thank you for the hard work on OH4!
I have migrated from OH 3.4.4 to OH 4.0.1 (Openhabian).

I also have high CPU usage
… and some problems with number items
2023-08-01 20:27:49.099 [WARN ] [penhab.core.library.items.NumberItem] - Failed to update item ‘OneCallAPIweatherandforecast_ForecastToday_Visibility’ because ‘100 %’ could not be converted to the item unit ‘m’

I also have problems with a simple Blockly script:

2023-08-01 20:19:52.981 [ERROR] [b.automation.script.javascript.stack] - Failed to execute script:

org.graalvm.polyglot.PolyglotException: TypeError: var1.toFixed is not a function

Any idea how to solve the update problems?

"get state of item` returns the state of the Item as a String. In the old implementation there was a lot of non-standard and sometimes not accurate “magic” that happened to automatically convert from Strings to Numbers. In OH 4 there is a lot less magic and a lot more consistency. But this means if you’ve blocks that were treating a String as if it were a number, that isn’t going to work any more. You need to use numbers to do math or comparisons.

Use the “get [name] of item” block and choose “numeric state” to get the state of the Item as a number instead of a String.

Thank you @rlkoshak for your quick reply. Less “magic” and more consistency in OH4 requires a more structured thinking … mathematics require numbers not strings! It works! Thanks!

And with my latest PR you can even use States with Quantities in the round block: [blockly] Add Quantity support to round block by stefan-hoehn · Pull Request #2000 · openhab/openhab-webui · GitHub

Make sure in your case that if you use will use this in the future, do the round directly by using

Thank you @stefan.hoehn für your hint
