I’ve been having a problem for some time now. I can’t see the openhab entry for the devices in the Google Home app.
I had a working installation in OH3 and have now switched to OH5. I installed everything from scratch. Except for my openhab cloud. Since then, I’ve had the old entries in the Google Home app. But I can’t log out. In myopenhab/rest/items, I see a json with all the old devices.
What did I do?
I uninstalled the app and also created a new home (without success).
I created a new myopenhab account (with the old UIID and old secret), without success.
I don’t understand the “can’t log out” comment. Do you mean you cannot remove and reconnect openHAB to Google Home? Or you can’t log out of myopenhab.org? Or something else?
Have you asked Google Assistant to “sync devices”? I think there is a way to do it from the Google Home app too but I don’t know what steps they are off the top of my head. It will still work with GA though.
Have you reviews the ga metadata of all your exposed Items to ensure they match the tags and formats required by GA integration?
You need to select one of the devices that is controlled by openHAB. Then click the cog icon and then “Remove device”. IIRC it will ask if you want to unlink from openHAB at that point and then it will remove all your openHAB devices. You should be able to reconnect after everything has been removed.
Then I am redirected to the window where I can see the services linked to Google, but openHAB is not there. So I can neither delete the device nor relink the service.
It wouldn’t be any more. You’ve unlined it. You’d have to hit “+ Add” → Works with Google Home and you should find openHAB in that big list again.
If you’ve failed to unlink it, you’ll still see openHAB at the top. But it seems you can unlink and reconnect to openHAB from there without removing the devices first.
I use Matter to integrate OH with Google Home now so what I see is different from what you’ll see.
Glad that you solved your by by switching to matter. I actually was experiencing the same problem and sorted it out with the procedure described in my post.
Thank you for your reply, I read your post. Maybe it’s because my mobile phone has Gemini integrated into Google Assistant. On my wife’s phone, I can see the openHAB module. But with Matter, it works for me. Only the dead old devices are disturbing me. Maybe in the future, I will try to solve the issue.
