Can't figure out how to run chown

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: _Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB
    • OS: _Win 10 pro 64 bit
    • Java Runtime Environment: _where did i get that information?
    • openHAB version: openHAB 2.5.1-2
  • Issue of the topic: no such file/directory
  • Please post configurations (if applicable):

I am even to dumb to get a copy of the config file in here.

The main Problem is:
[10:19:14] openhabian@openhab:~$ sudo chown -hR openhab:openhab /etc/openhab2 /opt/openhab2/conf
chown: cannot access ‘/opt/openhab2/conf’: No such file or directory

I did all from the “openhabian beginners guide”.
But cant get samba to work.

I am really sorry but i dont have the time to sit hours and hours in front of my PC and dont get even the lowest basic stuff to run.

  • If logs where generated please post these here using code fences: i dont know how to generate logs and get it here

… that you ignored a number of basics (#1, #4, #6, #8 #9, …) when you’ve posted this.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but in addition to that, your post is even hardly understandable
(Win10 on Raspi??? why do you want to do chown ? etc.)

How to ask a good question / Help Us Help You - Tutorials & Examples - openHAB Community

Sorry for bothering you.
I worked step by step with this tutorial https://www.openhab.org/docs/installation/openhabian.html
“Hassle free”, yeah…

I will find it out.

Which step on the openHABian tutorial are you stuck on?

Where did you get the path /opt/openhab2/conf? That is not referenced anywhere on that tutorial.

Where did you get the idea that you need to run a chown? That is no referenced anywhere on that tutorial.

Where are you being told to execute these commands?

What do you mean by “can’t get samba to work”? We need specifics.

Markus posted the “Help Us Help You” post because you haven’t provide near enough information to actually help you.

Thanks for your reply.
And yes all this steps are from the openhabian “hassle free” tutorial site.
