Chromecast out of order since update to OH 4.3.4

I am running openHABian on a Raspberry Pi 4.

Just upgraded from OH 4.3.3 to 4.3.4. Now the chromecast binding has errors I never exprerienced before (setup was working stable for 6+ months).

Now I get this:

2025-04-02 14:48:13.201 [WARN ] [omecast.internal.ChromecastCommander] - Missing media player app - cannot process media.

and no more audio playback.

My 4 Google Nest Mini 2 are online, up and running. They even adjust the volume correctly when playing back audio / outputting speech, only no sound at all coming out of them.

I am through with many reboots, clearing the OH cache via CLI, reinstalling all addons with APT. And reinstalling the binding alone, and changing the callback ports to all possible configurations. Still, silence allover :frowning:

Slowly, I am out of my wits. Grateful for any hint :slight_smile:

Well, there are things between software and hardware which humankind might never be able to understand :smiley:

While withstanding all my efforts to make it work, my system just and utterly surprised me with speech.

While the solution seemed to be waiting for two hours. Whatever ran long in the background, now it’s working as expected. Strange, but good, anyway.
