I have created the corresponding file (hms. cfg) in /etc/openhab2/services/. It has the following syntax:

device=serial: /dev/ttyusb1
baud rate=38400
parity=NONE
Number Humidity_Outdoor “Humidity[%. 1f %%]” (Weather) { $…

However, the logfile (/var/log/openhab2/events. log) does not show that data are received from the moisture meter.
Do I have to do anything else to activate the query?

Did you install the binding?

Are you certain the device is at dev/ttyusb1? Usually, the USB is all caps.

Forgive me for asking, but which binding should I install?

Whatever binding works with this HMS technology. I don’t know it so I don’t know what binding it would be.
