Create report from fronius smart meter

dear community,

i am using now openhab few months and i love it so much.
now i am planing to create reports (in dashboard) that i can get the “produced” or “consumed” kwh from my fronius smart meter.

did you have any idea how i can do that? in my case i want have the current data from current day

produced data:
11.11.2022 00:00:00 - current time.

is there a possibility to do that? which with type of module or function is the best for that? currently i am only use dashboard live data from the current values from the devices.

You’re about to be introduced to openHAB rules.
I’d start by looking at the docs on rules and deciding which of the languages to choose.

There are many threads on the forum about daily consumption calculations etc. You can use the methods even if you don’t choose rhe same language.

Use case: Convert cumulative meter reading (e.g. for heat/energy (kWh) or water (l)) into daily / hourly consumptions (W or l/h)

I’m using the excellent wmbusmeters software and AMB8465 USB stick a to capture and store the Wireless M-Bus values broadcasted by my heat meter (Techem / Kamstrup vario 3 type 3.2.1) and water meter (Techem radio 4). Unfortunately, both meters only broadcast the cumulative (ever growing) values of the energy / water consumed irregularly (every 5 - 20 minutes). These cumulative values are also only updated irregularly every ~24 hours. Simply logging these values in openHAB results in something …

Smartmeter - daily kWh - any existing solution

Hi, i’ve got a MODBUS based Smartmeter that provides the current power values and a counter of the overall kWh like any other electric meter. What I would love to do is a graph that shows the daily kWh per day (0:00 til 24:00). My only idea without any smartness would be to run an e.g. python script that remembers the counter at midnight and does the math 24hrs later…and this on a daily basis…plus sends the delta to openhab. Is there any smarter approach or an existing solution that could help…

@iceget, I wrote the first solution doc some months back, starting with virtually zero previous experience. Don’t be afraid to try out working with rules, it’s pretty easy.
