Creating sitemap with only OH on Raspberry

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4b
    • OS: Raspbian Gnu/Linux 10
    • openHAB version: 2.5.7
  • Issue of the topic:
So I recently created a OH-system, connected my first items and was right on track to create a Sitemap.

Now to my problem: I don’t know where to put the Sitemap-file, if I have a look on the SD Card of the Raspberry there is only the available boot-partition accessible, no other partition is shown. Where do I put my sitemap then. - Is a solo Raspbian openhab config bad, in terms of using files for configuration?

Any help is appreciated, thanks for your advice!

Reinhard

How are you looking at the card? Logging in to Raspbian?
You will not be able to read Linux partitions on Windows directly.

I took the sd card out of the raspberry and put it in a card-reader. Both in windows and macOS only the boot partition is shown.

That is because they do not recognize Linux partitions.

It might be easier for you to use the openHABian image. It simplifies setting up openHAB and you can set up SAMBA to access the configuration files from Windows or, I believe, MAcOS.

I’m using openHABian already. Thank you for your advice with SAMBA. I was able to connect my Mac via SMB with the running OH-server.
