Critical alerts (iOS)

Hi there,

an important missing feature seems to be critical alerts (high-priority notifications that bypass DND, silent modes etc.). Several use cases would benefit from such a functionality (alarms, contact-sensors, in-house trackers for pets etc.).

I’ve seen several requests regarding Android (something about notification categories). However, none for Apple (sorry if I missed it), which supports critical alerts out of the box (Home already does it, my HikVision doorbell uses it for calls etc.).

There is a (kind of) workaround, using HomeKit, but it doesn’t offer much control (e.g. if a window opens during the night etc.).
This is how it looks like:

That’s all. I’m going to take care of that leak now :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice feature request, can you please create a feature request issue on GitHub so the iOS devs see it?

Thanks! Unfortunately, GitHub won’t let me open a new Feature Request (idea or anything).
“You can’t perform that action at this time.”

Interesting. In that case, I will just ping one of the maintainers so he sees this thread here.

You don’t need to open a special feature request, just file an issue and ad feature request to the title.

All good, I opened it as a bug (hmmm, weird) with the notation [Feature Request]. I hope it’s ok. Thanks!
