Simple idea. Execution perhaps not so much :D
As a user I’d like to have a chan… nel in OpenHAB showing whether or not there is an update available for my esphome devices, and if possible, also trigger said update remotely so that I can automate updating devices, or understand how many of them are missing updates.
What I imagine:
Two channels:
- Is Update available?
- Trigger or start update
Two items:
Switch type - if on then there is an update available
Switch type - when user switches on it triggers the update of the esphome devices. (Switch should then return to off promptly afterwards).
After update is done, first switch (is update available?) would switch off.
Hope I am making sense!
I’m not sure what other information can be pulled but showing the current version and the latest version information could also be interesting, perhaps if there’s a “breaking changes “ flag somewhere that could also be interesting to show.
