Easiest way to swap leading sign of item value?

Hi all,

looking for an easy solution to swap +/- resp. positive to negativ and vice versa for an Item value, polled every 5sec by modbus.

Kind of like a “scale” value * -1 … ?

Consider reading about link profiles :wink:

E.g.:

When/where do you want to do this? Before the state gets to the Item? In a Rule? Just for display?

If before the state gets to the Item @curlyel’s link is the best and easiest choice. But if in other places you’ll need something besides a profile.

Thanks, perfect, exactly what I did look for:

The values of QuantityType, PercentType and DecimalTypes are negated (multiplied by -1). Otherwise the following mapping is used:

Albeit using various transformations, never realized that basic-profiles. Obviously too much trees in the forest … :sweat_smile:
