Echo Plus + Xiaomi Temperature Sensors

I have an echo plus which I don’t need for controlling hue lights (since I have a hue bridge already), but I was under the impression the plus will work with other Zigbee devices including Xiaomi temperature sensors. Has anyone linked to the Echo Plus with OpenHab2 so that it can be used to deliver the temperature readings from the Xiaomi sensors to OpenHab2?

You need to find out if you can control xiaomi gear with the echo plus. Or can the echo plus act as a zigbee bridge for OH? Probably not.

The echo plus can work as a bridge/hub for Zigbee devices, including the Xiaomi temperature sensors. This and this documentation I found suggests there is a way to programatically retrieve a temperature sensor measurement from the echo plus. The question is really around whether the amazon echo binding in OH2 (or any other binding) is capable of sending this request.
