Hi All,
Recently my electricity provider (Romande Energie in Switzerland) installed a new smartmeter in my property - it’s a Landis - Gyr e450.
For the past 4 years I have been using an Owl intuition 3 phase sensor using current clamps over MQQT, the readings were never accurate and I hate the forced subscription model.
Looking at the specs, my smartmeter has a RJ12 port with M-BUS using DLMS/COSEM (using OBIS protocol), and as Switzerland is not in the EU, Romande Energie do not encrypt the stream so no cipher key is needed.
So, I started my search for a device that would allow me to connect.
Reading the web, there are various posts from people trying to make their own or asking how to make this connection - but there is not much in the openhab space on this.
I have now found a device created by an Austrian company called Shrdzm, which met my requirements perfectly.
This device plugs directly into the smartmeter, and provides a MQTT client which my mosquitto server connected to seamlessly. There is also a HTTP Rest option available but this crashed my OH server - possibly too much overhead?
On my 3 phase supply, the smartmeter provides the following (in French, but those who are interested will understand):
Code OBIS|Désignation registre
0-0:96.1.0|N° de série fabricant
1-0:1.7.0|Puissance active instantanée import +P Wh
1-0:2.7.0|Puissance active instantanée export -P Wh
1-1:1.8.0|Energie active import totale +A Wh
1-1:2.8.0|Energie active export totale +A Wh
1-0:31.7.0|Courant instantané L1 A
1-0:51.7.0|Courant instantané L2 A
1-0:71.7.0|Courant instantané L3 A
1-0:32.7.0|Tension instantanée L1 v
1-0:52.7.0|Tension instantanée L2 v
1-0:72.7.0|Tension instantanée L3 v
This data comes every 5 seconds and really seems reliable.
If anyone is interested - let me know if you need any additional details.
Cheers
Will
