Embedded hardware supporting "pulseaudio"

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: ThinkCentre M910q/i7/RAM:16GB /storage_
    • OS: docker
    • Java Runtime Environment: java17
    • openHAB version: 4.3.1

I am just testing TTS and STT.

Are there any devices on the market that have a speaker and a microphone to work with “pulseaudio”?
If not any other ones (cloudfree and LAN-only) to create a audio sink & source??

I have no solution but I share your need.
It would be great if openHAB could support the Home Assistant voice device.

I want to make an add-on for the wyoming protocol (no promise), in order to support the flourishing voice ecosystem (software side) of Home Assistant. It could be a first step toward the support of this device. But the setup process of the device is another matter and would probably require a big effort, if even possible.

EDIT : I just realized that I’m not even sure that the Home Assistant voice device uses wyoming  I can’t find information about the protocol used.

Again, it’s not a solution for now, but it’s interesting and maybe could be openHAB next step toward the need you express in this thread: Voice satellite with ESP32.
