Emporia Vue Gen2 with OH

Hello,
I’m looking for a system to monitor my Energy (Electricity) consumption and found the Emporia Vue Gen2 solution. It might help me with a decent price.
I’m wondering if someone have integrate it with OpenHAB and how? Could you share your integration details? I’ve read several way to get the data, like a python script, some we’re able to get access to the MQTT used, … How did you do?
Reading the Net, some integration are done for Home Assistant or HomeSeer. Could we expect the same for OH?
Thank you for sharing your experience

Waking up this old topic to see if there’s anyone currently using Emporia Vue w/OH, especially with the ESPhome sfoteware flashed on the unit. What are you capturing in OH and how are you using it? I currently have a Vue in the panel that feeds my shop and am thinking about possible automations (i.e, turn the air filter off after the lights have been off for x amount of time.

Do you mean this ? openHAB has an esphome binding but I suppose that Emporia Vue sensors are not supported, so probably your best option is using a mqtt broker.

Should be possible replacing the api: section with a mqtt: one in the esphome code.

Yes, that’s the one. I’m interested in how people are making use of it – visualizations, automations, etc. I haven’t flashed mine over to the esphome firmware yet, but will some rainy day when I can’t work in the garden.

I checked the Esphome configuration of this product, and I dont see anything that isnt supported by the Esphome binding.

You can also test the Esphome configuration by flashing an emulator or a real Esp device with the fireware+å (without the soldering or connecting it). The binding supports auto discovery of both device and all available sensors/actuators.
