Looks like when I updated to OH 4.3.0 (Main UI Commit 8b8732ce ) i cannot add an item to a rockerswitch channel because all profiles are greyed and I get the message “There is no profile available for the selected item”
anybody in that situation ?
I am guessing the Channel is a trigger channel.
The profile selection seems to be broken after an upgrade to 4.3. I already reported this in the 4.3 Release Discussion thread. I cannot use profiles at all since the update.

As mentioned before, it is a Trigger channel. The only type of Item that you could link to such a Channel is a String type Item.
In this case it should be a switch item. But for me it does not matter whether it is a trigger channel or any other channel. I cannot select any profiles for any channels. Since this does not seem to be the case for others I probably have to dig deeper myself to find out why this happens…

I instanciated a COMPLETELY new instance of openhab, only added the enocean dongle as a gateway thing, and still the same issue: impossible to select any profile on the channels, whatever the type of the item I create… here is a screenshot
Yup, the same for me. Thanks for sharing so I know I’m not alone

I’m pretty sure it’s a BUG because, as I explained, I tried on a totaly fresh install and have the same issue.
Just to let you know that on other type of channels (not Trigger channel) I cannot choose a profile BUT the default profile is selected, as shown here:

did you do the process entirely from scratch ? Because my OLD “links” are still working, but any new one that I create I’m stuck…
all right, I tried with the Astro binding, and INDEED with the Trigger channel, same thing !
even with a String item, impossible to create the link or to choose any profile.
No I did not start from scratch. I’m pretty sure this is only a UI glitch, the functionality should still be there. All the old links are working for me too.

Yes, but you can first create the item and in the second step select the item.
Another trick is to change the type of an item after it’s created or linked to a channel.
This allows you to select a profile that was not offered while creating the link
Creating it first and linking after never worked for me as I cannot even select the item then. I may try your suggestion with changing the type though. However influxdb is sometimes very unhappy when you change item types, so I would need to make sure that the item is excluded from persistence as long as it is not setup correctly.
when you create first the type has to match with the channel. Otherwise you only got the other way around.
I didn’t like this restriction so much because if e.g. you want to have a last changed item using the corresponding profile but the channel is not datetime you have to do this rather counterintuitive process.
Yes I also find this very annoying but as far as I understand it this has been a conscious decision 
I will really try your suggestion by changing types though thank you! But only after the profiles can be used again at all…
you’re sure you can’t use then? I only notice that you can’t use them while creating the item. But you can link them afterwards.
No I cannot select any profile it’s just all greyed out also when I try to link it afterwards. Here a screenshot from the app but it’s the same on the desktop pc. I misst about it’s hard to see on the screenshot but believe me I simply cannot click on any other profile
strange. I’m on 4.3 and can change profiles.
Only for file-based items it’s greyed out
