ESP8266 HTTP binding OpenHAB2

I would like to do this:

I created the transform files and the items files on the openhab server under /etc/openhab2/transforms

I cant get them to display anywhere, what are the basic steps I need to go through to get this to work in OpenHAB2?

That example is based on the HTTP binding:

http://docs.openhab.org/addons/bindings/http1/readme.html

You have other options to do that, for example with the ESPEasy firmware and the MQTT binding.
