Yes it is possible with the use of the MQTT binding which links two openHAB installations together. I was a bit confused at first but I have this working well now. Others on this forum pointed me in the right direction when I was stuck. See here: MQTT in layman’s terms, best practices, use cases?
Personally I would use the Z-Wave binding though as in my experience it works much faster than the Z-Way binding. See my findings here Z-Wave – Can it be reliable? Too many variables? Try something else?
