Google assistant - sync all devices - one or more devices aren't available

Hi OHers,

Running OH 4.3.6, in a container in Fedora 40 on a Core i5 Mac mini - not yet ready to migrate to 5.x. I need to sort out the java dependencies, etc. first. System has been running for years (since 2017).

Google voice control is working. I can turn things on and off, etc. with a ‘Hey Google’. However, I’ve made a couple of changes recently to my OH setup, added a couple of nodes, etc. When I trigger a ‘sync all devices’ in Google Assistant, it responds with “one or more devices aren’t available. you might want to try setting them up again“.

I’m concerned about breaking and recreating the google connection.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Has anyone had issues breaking/recreating google connections?

Thanks, Dave.

I’ve not had any problems like these. Occasionally I’ve had GA complain that openHAB is not available but then commands work.

I have disconnected and reconnected OH to GA many times in the past and never had a problem. But that’s no guarantee you won’t.

I’ve since moved to exposing OH to Google Home using the Matter binding. That takes out one of the external variables (openHAB Cloud Server). Something to consider when you do move to OH 5. The list of supported types of devices is much smaller in Matter right now though so it may not work for you.
