Help needed: how to connect and use a Brennenstuhl Smart Plug

I just received a Brennenstuhl Smart Plug board. It supports 2.4 GHz WiFi and comes with it’s own iOS app, installing it is quite straight forward.

Now I want to embed this device in my OpenHab system. But there is no binding, it seems there is also no documentation available from Brennenstuhl, so I am quite lost how to integrate and use this device with OpenHAB.

By now I only managed to connect the device using the http binding, but am stuck there …

What’s the web ui look like?

missed to mention that - I was also not able to connect to any web ui

Ah. shame on Brennenstuhl…

Based on this Home Assistant thread, I think it’s just a a Tuya device. So, you can use the SmarthomeJ Tuya binding.

Install the SmarthomeJ marketplate:

Then install the binding and follow the directions to set up a Tuya cloud project.

thanks for this hint. Tried it, also installed the Smart Life app (another app I didn’t want to have), but neither searching for nor manually installing the Brennenstuhl device with it did work. It seems though the Brennenstuhl app is kind of a branded version of the Smart Life app, so I guess the basic assumption that this is just a Tuya device is correct. But seems Brennenstuhl did - intentionally or not, who knows - something so that only their app works with their device.

Anyhow, this is all totally against what I want to have - well, what I actually do have since years with my OpenHab instance - so I decided to give up on this device and continue working with hardware that natively works with OpenHAB.

Thanks everyone for your support!
