Amazon is now killing a cloud device introduced in 2017. You cannot depend on cloud services to keep your device working. IMO cloud devices can be compared to renting a house. Subscriptions could be compared to a short term lease that can be changed at any time, with no recourse.
You are also not longer able to connect to your NEST devices.
As soon as you switch them to Google the NEST binding is not working.
That is because Google says they will choose a few selected partners to have access. Free software need not apply.
