HmIP-SWDO-I issue - as string ok?

Hi,
I noted that there is still an issue with the HmIP-SWDO-I
all configured and it does not work. Seems there is an issue open

But does not seem someone is working on it.

Anyhow, when the item is configured as Contact, it does not receive any update. When I change it to String, it works.
So in general all seems to be set up correct and it is the binding.

Question: until this is fixed, does it do any harm when it is a String instead of a Contact? It works just fine at least from what I can tell?

If the item works for your needs as a String then you should be good to go.:wink:
