Homekit: apple car / ios

Hi, somebody can confirm / decline that garage opener works in apple car on a car dashboard especially when you approach your ios home location base on gps.
I am not sure what to do it never popuped on my android car audio with some chines apple car wifi implementation. Of course it’s properly configured visible and working in iOS home app

@yfre

I get the notifications for open/closed on carplay for garage door opener (a shelly one integrated with OH and exposed to homekit). Exactly as you’ve shown.

But I can’t control it from carplay itself. Honestly I’m not sure if this just isn’t possible or if I’ve just not worked it out properly. But I do use siri voice control in the car however to open the garage door using a homekit automation. ‘Open Sesame’ opens the garage door via siri. This also works from a motorcycle helmet voice/intercom system integrated with the same iphone and is super handy when coming in from a ride.

I have a garage door opener hookup up via an Aeotec zwave switch and exposed to HomeKit. The button shown in the screenshot appears in the CarPlay screen. Then as stated when you are close to home it pops up and you can press the button on the display to open and close the door. It helps to have a HomePod or Apple TV to enable remote access so it appears in time for arrival on the driveway. It’s quite neat.

ok, i will double check it on my instance. maybe there is some kind of all car play app on the radio it’s atoto device with car play support but it’s a bit different that normal manufacturer car play implementation. I will check it in other car
