This is a new HomeKit client binding which allows importing HomeKit accessories and bridges into openHAB.
@AndrewFG is this binding supporting HomeKit accessories, which are connected via bluetooth to the Home Hub (Apple TV)?
Addtionally are cameras and doorbells supported?
If so I am unfortunately not able to discover a single accessory of either type.
I never tested it (don’t have an Apple TV) but perhaps you can tell me if the binding discovers yours as a Bridge? And/or is it discoverable via an independent mDNS app?
If the Home Hub would be acting as a Bridge (which I don’t know if it does) then if it would be paired to this binding, then probably it’s child accessories would become available to the binding as well.
The binding supports inputs that have distinct states. So a doorbell might be supported e.g. pressed / not pressed, but a camera stream would not.
Apple TVs/Home Hubs are not discovered.
Only Bridges I did create myself in either NodeRed or Homebridge are discovered.
Accessories with IP connectivity (Homekit enabled shelly switches) are discovered.
My main use-case for this binding is to bring those (legacy) bluetooth Homekit Temp/Hum/CO2 Sensors to openhab/mqtt…
Understood. So probably this addon won’t help.
Thank you very much for this Binding. It works perfect for my Aqara FP2 Sensors. I already had Home Assistant and mqtt to bridge the Sensor states, but with the homekit Integration it works faster and it is easy to configure.
