I removed the homekit metadata from the items I added the last month, as I assumed they could be the linked to the problem - without success however.
Finally I decided to cleanup everything:
- uninstalled Homekit Addon
- stopped OH4 docker
- removed the Cache and Tmp folder
- deleted the homekit.json and homekit.config files as described in the homekit docs.
- removing all homekit metadata in org.openhab.core.items.Metadata.json file
After starting OH4 and installing HomeKit AddOn again, it was possible to add Openhab to HomeKit again.
I have no idea what breaked HomeKit, as it suddenly stopped to work, without changing anything.
It seems Apple HomeKit didn’t like any settings I had, which never caused any issue in the past.
Anyway - it is working now.
