How to build .zip release for OH2?

How shall I proceed to build a release like the ones cloudbees do?
I read through doc.openhab.org several times and did not succeed.

Running mvn install in openhab-distro didn’t output any .zip files as I could find at least.

Could someone give me some direction?

It does! Look into the folder distributions/openhab/target/, here’s the proof: https://openhab.ci.cloudbees.com/job/openHAB-Distribution/ws/distributions/openhab/target/
