How to configure open hab to work with Aoycocr Plugs and x10 modules?

First time install of open hab on Ubuntu Server 20.04. I want to control devices connected to 4 Aoycocr plugs and 2 x10 appliance modules. As I go through the intall, what add-ons should I select to support the Aoycocr plugs? Any other things I should install to make the plugs work with open hab?
I am not interested at this point in any voice control capability via Alexa, Google, etc.
Thanks

As I can see on Amazon, those plugs use SmartLife App, so they are Tuya based devices.
Therefore you need to install the Tuya Binding and follow the instructions.
Please note that Tuya devices are not the easiest to include. Better check for Tasmota devices.

Thank you. I found similar references in my searching. Why are Tuya devices not a easy install?

What about support for x10 devices?
Thanks

If I am not mistaken there is an X10 CM11A binding, I used to have some X10 devices until a couple of years ago and Openhab controlled them just fine.

I am trying to understand what bindings are available. In reading through various docs, “add-ons” seem the be the general category and within add-ons are bindings, automation, etc. being subcategories.

The only location I’ve found that provides a list of add-ons is here:

but I don’t see x10 listed under any subcategory…Perhaps this is not up to date? or the definitive reference?
Can someone point me to the list? My google foo seems to be failing me.

You may have some specific reasons to want to keep using powerline X10 modules, I suggest using something like, at least that is what I did.

Kasa Smart Plug Mini 15A, Smart Home Wi-Fi Outlet Works with Alexa, Google Home & IFTTT, No Hub Required, UL Certified, 2.4G WiFi Only, 4-Pack(EP10P4) , White

These can be purchased for about $6 each and you avoid the headache of powerline dead spots.

Thank you…appreciated.
The radio signal is weak/non-existant where the x10 modules are located. The x10 modules seem to have stopped working after several power outtages and power flickers. I suspect the xpcr amp/repeater has become damaged as the x10 modules work fine. Until I get around to a more definitive diagnosis, I thought the Aoycora plugs might be a workable soln since I have some and could rearrange the location x10 appliance modules and wiring to provide a temporary solution.
If the Aoycora plugs are a PITA to configure, it may be more time efficient to just buy a few of the Kasa plugs. Thanks

I was going through the initial configuration for persistance and bindings. I chose RRD4j Persistence, accepted all the bindings it found, added CM11a binding but could not find the Tuya binding in the list. Where is it located? Any special installation instructions??
THanks

I don’t use it, but I think the binding for Tuya devices is called Smarthome/J

Thanks, within the Open Hab UI Add on store I only see: LIVISI SmartHome Binding. IDK if that is equivalent to the smarthome/j you refer too. I came across the 188+ thread (2023-2024) that details all the issues with the smarthome binding, but no definitive citation saying it works with 4.3, were to get it, and how to install it. Quite annoying. I over exercised my google foo and came up with nothing…sigh.Seems things are way too dynamic with the main engine which breaks dependencies and plugins…Lots of thrashing…

Open your Openhab instance, of the left go to addon store and then bindings
On the top in the search window type smarthome you should see an option for Smarthome/J Tuya binding click on Install

Thank you. I followed your directions and when I type smarthom/J in the search box, three matches are found: D-link smart home, LIVISI Smart Home and TP Link Smart Home. No exact match to smarthome/j
LIVISI description states:
The binding integrates the LIVISI (RWE/innogy) SmartHome system into openHAB. The binding is the successor of the innogy SmartHome openHAB binding, which was communicating with the LIVISI cloud servers over the Internet.

This binding communicates directly with LIVISI SmartHome Controllers (SHC) and not through the LIVISI cloud services.

On your SHC you need a minimum software version of 1.2.XX.XXX (SHC 2) or 1.914-3.1.XXXX.XX (SHC 1 / classic) with activated “Local SmartHome”.

Is this the correct binding? I have my doubts…

search the community for smarthome/j Tuya. You will need to add the 3rd party marketplace or use openHAB 5.0 latest Mileston, which includes the Tuya Binding officially.

After searching, I found this which seems to be most appropriate (true?):

it talks about it being applicable to openHab 4.1, I am using 4.3 so am hoping it is applicable.
Followed the directions but got stuck here following the steps under the Tuya Develop Account:
“In the upper menu bar, select the “Devices” tab, then go to “Link Tuya App Account” and link you App account.”

What is my “App account”? where do I find it and how do I link it? It is all very strange and I don’t have any conceptual context of why going to the tuya devolopers site and getting an account is all about.
Guidance please?

As an aside, I saw reference that in OH, the support for Tuya devices is already baked in. When I went to get the latest stable release (linux-debian-ubuntu), I was directed to 4.3…If v5 is out, wasn’t I directed to it?
This leads to the question that IF v5 is stable, how do I upgrade 4.3?

openHAB 5 will contain the tuya Binding, but is scheduled for end of July. The Binding is already part of the nightlies and Milestones.
But the setup procedure will be the same.
As I told you, tuya is complicated. You need the dev account and link your SmartLife App with the configured devices to the dev account. The Binding can then discover the devices from the dev account with all needed information for local control.

I did create a dev account but is is not clear to me what to do at this step, as I posted earlier:

Can someone shed some light on this?

I could not find any documentation on how to go from v4.3 to v5 Milestone, or in general how to go to a newer version of Open HAB. I did find that v5 milestone requires Java21, which means that V17 that is required for v4.3 won’t work. More install/deinstall shenanigans which I don’t have the stamina for because something always goes wrong, especially with Java.

Looks like the only sane way out of this is to buy a Kasa plug device for $6 usd. instead of spending 3 days searching for docs that are actually helpful and going thorough a lot of kluge installs and signups at dev websites. Wow, what a mess.

You don’t need the Openhab 5, the Openhab 4 version you have should work fine.

Given the options that you indicated showed up when you searched in Openhab bindings for the Tuya binding, it seems to me you may have searched for smart home (two words) instead of smarthome (one word)

I can’t help you with the steps to follow to actually get your units into the Tuya binding as I have not used it.

You did setup your tuya devices with the SmartLife App, which needed a registration.
In the tuya dev settings you can register the SmartLife App with the account created within.
