How to keep settings between snapshot updates

After updating my OH2 setup to a newer snapshot to use myopencloud.org, I’ve lost all my things I set up before.

In case I have to do an update in the future, how to I keep all my old settings?
Are there good reasons, why they all have to be removed?

If you have updated from a build previous to #624, the reason is:

Replacement of mapdb by jsondb

All, I feel sorry to tell you that the distro build #624 brings another breaking change, but as in the past, I am certain that it is for the better! Updates from #624 or up to newer builds should not delete things or any other config (at least not on my system).

Good news in this case. I worried that I will always have to reconfigure OH from scratch.
