How to: use google calendar as trigger

Hi there,

what would be the best way to use google calendar as a trigger for logics. e.g. turn heating on/off via google calendar events.

Tere is a spacial Binding Keyword is CalDev. I do not use it actually but what i see from different discussions it is not easy to handle and maybe not for openHAB starters.

Wouldn’t it be possible to use IFTTT integration for calendar based event triggering pushed to OpenHab?

Yes, I use IFTTT with a dedicated “openHAB” calendar. Works well, I mainly use it to give a “remember to put the recycling out” message on the correct days when we activate the “good night” scene.

You can of course share the calendar with others and they can add and move stuff around.
