Howto add MQTT Thing

Using a tool like MqttAnalyzer on iPhone and subscribing to „#“ should show something like this

I got no iPhone, but i tested with an app under android, result is the same as in mosquitto_sub.

Did you make the IP changes in the files and restart mosquitto and OH?

I guess not, so we are still trying to solve an issue not openHAB related :frowning:

Yes multiple Times with service restart and also server restart.

Its like it is in all application i tested inclusiv mosquitto_sub, no differences:

Yes i think too. I think its a problem in mosquitto, maybe or in zigbee2mqtt itself. As long as i got no result in mosquitto_sub, there are nor results in any other app.

Stupid question, did you change the contact state while whatching the mqtt messages ?
Those devices report/publish only when the contact changes.

Yes it shows, but not like in the example above or in other howtos. I also cant get the status by zigbee2mqtt/DoorWindow, but if you mean, that i can see it only if the state changes, than i have to try it again.

Please set the loglevel for zigbee2mqtt to debug, then change the contact state.
You should see something like the following with actual timestamp in the latest logfile:

Ok - partly success

  1. i didnt know that the status is send once it changed
  2. i noticed because of 1. that the connection from device to the dongle was away, so i deleted the device from zigbee2mqtt and paired it again
  3. now i see the result in any case we tested before like in mosquitto_sub, the Android App or MQTTX
    => but in oH the Status doesnt change from N/A.
    → Incoming value Transformation is set to: JSONPATH:$.contact
    → i think transformation is missing, but i only see DSL?!

I hate to get involved here as I haven’t read everything, but you did install the transformations you are trying to use?

Yes the example I posted was for the same device. Sonoff sensor.

There is no need for the regex transformation.
This one should work

Correct. You don’t need regx. I had it only to filter out messages in the log file.

All is working now.
The Problem was the USB Dongle which seems not to work, and i have to restart the system. I Also didnt know that the data was only send if the state of the device changes. So everything is working now.
