Are you taking about the source? No, there is no way to disable it as far as I know.

Note that this additional information is often really useful when diagnosing problems. I’ve already depended on it three times since last week to help solve problems for posters to the forum.

The source is also available in rules.

For the Android app, I think it even includes which device the command came from, not just that it came from an Android device. I imagine iOS is the same. So you can add logic to rules now to do something different based on where the command came from.

This will certainly be helpful for troubleshooting.

For another user, this option wasn’t installed after updating to version 5.1.0!

So there must be some difference somewhere.

I always check the log to optimize the rules.

With this new information, things are getting quite confusing.

I’m using the openHAB Log Viewer (Frontail) in a web browser on port 9001.

I was able to remove the suffix “(source…)” by editing the log4j2.xml file.

It’s not disabled, but simply filtered out.

in this section:

In case of an error, you can reset it or refer to the UI’s own log.

It’s part of core. There’s nothing separate to install. So what ever happened with that other user, either they are seeing events for which the source is not yet added to the event (I think there are still a few places that don’t do this yet) or their upgrade failed somehow.
