We just released our Android App IRControl in Version 2.0. IRControl is a App for controlling consumer electronics over a infrared transmitter like the Logitech Harmony Hub. The main idea of our App is, that the user can design his system himself (user interface, screen design, page flow) and can make his own, individual remote control app.
In our actual release we implemented an Interface to control the openHAB System. So you can design your own, individual user Interface also for controlling openHAB.
Looks interesting.
Will try it out. What options are there to design a more “modern UI” style in keeping with the current trends of flat icons and graphics?
You can use Images linke .png or .jpg for buttons as well as a background of your design. There is a wysiwyg layout editor where you can design your UI completely free. For users that are not so talented in design, there exists layout templates that you can use and also adapt to your Environment.
No, acutally you can work only with static content (except some content from BlueSound Multiroom System). Maybe this could be an improvement for a next Version
We just released Version 2.10 of the IRControl App.
Interesting for you:
You can define now a Web-Url for displaying pictures (have a look at our online documentation http://ircontrol.cec.gmbh/manual for details), as well we have now a control to display a webcam stream (actually only for mjpeg).
