Is BRP069C81 compatible with Daikin Binding?

Hello team,

do you know if the new BRP069C81 is compatible with our Daikin Binding?
it seems usable locally, like the original BRP069A81

this seems a good starting point: Daikin: Unable to set a working mode different from Heat/Cool · Issue #181109 · home-assistant/core · GitHub

please let me know
thanks
Andrea

probably maybe.

BRP069A81 worked with the daikin binding for a lot of people. the newer C-series boards (BRP069C4x etc) were often cloud-only with no useful local api, so the binding connected then sat there with dead channels.

if C81 really talks locally like the A81, try adding it as a normal daikin ac thing and hit the box on http:///common/basic_info from the oh host. if that returns json youre probably fine. if it 404s or only the onecta cloud path works, the binding wont do much until someone adds cloud support.

worth a try and report back what basic_info does. that answer usually settles it fast.

I don’t have a C81 but I need to buy 3 daikin units, so any help would be highly appreciated

If it talks local then we could add the additional mode mappings as described in that HA issue, provided that someone could test it.

If possible, might as well install a ducted / centralized version. I find ducted so much better than individual units.

what you mean with ducted/centralized version?

I meant central airconditioning system. Just one system, with air outlets in every room distributed with air ducting system.

thank you for clarifying it. I have already this solution on upstairs, but on the ground level I can only put 3 units, no other options. Unfortunately I wait for someone can confirm (or not) the C81 can talk locally :frowning:

Thank you @jimtng , if we find someone can confirm it talks local, I can purchase my units and test it. I’m trying to understand if it talks locally
