I want ask if there is any working binding for Dreame robot vacuum cleaner or is any plan to implement ?
Unfortunately, OH has not yet a binding for (newer) Dreames.
Afaik, older models could be managed by the Xiaomi (Mi IO) binding, as Dreame is a subsidiary of Xiaomi.
My work-around: I use Home Assistant as a “binding” for my Dreame X40, both systems - OH and HA - talk to each other via MQTT.
I also would appeiciate the development of an OH Dreame binding, but I’m waiting for approx. one year now…
Ohhh, I have L40. So no chance to communicate with it from OH? It makes OH less usefull in comparison with HA. Hope bindig will be developed in near feature.![]()

Use HA as bridge is really crazy ![]()

why? I have over 30 docker containers running all sorts of applications. What’s one more ?
To have a binding on OpenHAb, a node on nodered, an mqtt server or home assistant, it is all the same thing.
And frankly, it might be the better option because you’d be able to benefit from additional possibilities.
OH is a 100% volunteer effort. No one gets paid to develop add-ons like happens in HA.
The bad news is you need to find someone who needs to have the hardware, the skills (or willingness to learn them), and the willingness to spend their time developing the add-on.
The good news is that could be you. There is no major barriers preventing such a contribution. A number of add-ons for OH were developed by first time coders. It’s a decent platform to learn on.
But without someone to volunteer to do it, it’s not going to get done. That’s the nature of 100% volunteer projects like this.
Yes, @rlkoshak , I know that it’s volunteer work only. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not impatient.
The itentention was to restrain expectations.
I also thought about starting a binding development. But then I skimread OH binding dev. and also the source code of existing MiIO binding and I’m overchallenged and guess, this is not the right project for tentative steps.
But, @alda1 , I found in the documentation, that there are possibilities to integrate unsupported devices with the Xiaomi binding.
I also thought about starting a binding development, but it’s too complicated (or it looks so ).
But thanks for infromation regarding unsupported devices with the Xiaomi binding. I will try.
