Items not displayed but receiving updates

Hello Community,
I’m quite new to openHAB and have an issue.

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: Raspberry Pi
    • OS: Raspbian Stretch with Desktop (November 2017)
    • Java Runtime Environment: 1.8.0_65 (build: 1.8.0_65-b17)
    • openHAB version: 2.2.0-1
  • Issue of the topic:
    I’m integrating more than 80 multi-sensors and created around 240 Items to handle the data with more than 20 related Groups to structure them.
    The Items are displayed in the sitemap through Group-structure, so in the sitemap a Group is specified and you get to the subgroups and Items by clicking through this structure (example below).
    The Item names are auto-generated, because of the huge number of sensors, which will increase in the future.

The problem is that somehow some Items are not displayed even if they are in the correct Group. No warnings and errors are logged (that’s why I’m not going to post the log files here).

The items and sitemap is korrekt.
I can see all items.
Try to restart openhab.
Which items do you miss?

As mentioned in my post I was posting only snapshots of the entire Items- and Sitemap-file.
From 240 Items around 60 are not displayed (the posted ones included).
Even restarting didn’t help.
I thought about to many operations per second - updates coming in through REST API from the Watson IoT Platform the sensors are connected to - that’s why I changed the log-level from INFO to WARN to decrease the operations per second. It didn’t help, though.

Post the whole items and sitmaps-file please.
What model is the pi?

Maybe it’s because of the rules I’m using. They are working, but maybe they cause trouble.
I will test it as you did without rules.

I found the solution: The problem is the the actual code and the definitions around, but it’s the total number of items. If I leave a certain amount of Items, it works (independent of which Items I leave).

Your item names are the same for the first 20-something characters, could you try to replace the long prefix to something shorter? Maybe with replacing “809646_EUI64_0080E103000” with “XXX”.

Perhaps some function took a shortcut and just compares the first something characters.

I am using far more then 240 items and do not miss any of them. But i am also not using the group display.

Does anybody know if there is a limit of possible items per file? Because if I have more than 200 Items per file this leads to uncertain behaviour.

I removed the Group-displaying and replaced it by a sitemap (listing all 200 items in Frames and nested Texts).
Now everything works fine. The problem seems to be the Group-displaying.
