I managed to buy a switch about which OH doesn’t seem to have any information. OH identifies it as (0063:4952:3437:8.20), the paper “manual” that came with it mentions 76591 and ZWN4015. See attached node20.xml for node details from OH. I tried hacking together a description XML file, which “Thing Type File Provider” got me to a state where I can control the switch through OH, but I can’t configure it: OpenHAB thing UI just shows this:
Not an expert on that process, but did you restart the Zw binding (or OH). You could also try deleting the thing (not exclude) and scan, or reinitializing the device first.
EDIT: For the long term with OH, it looks like to add the type:ID to this entry. Difference might just be toggle versus paddles
Yes, ZWN4015 looks like a paddle switch variant of ZWN4016 (see page, flipping paddle/toggle switches between 76591 and 76592), so likely adding 3437 ID to that entry would work.
I did try restarting OH, deleting and re-adding the thing. Deleting the thing, excluding from ZW, including to ZW, re-adding to OH.
You could try thing file type provider, I usually just replace the existing file in the jar with a compressed editor. The jar process does require the delete/scan. Couple of options
Thanks. That file works nicely. I had to patch .jar file for configuration parameters to appear. I was able to change the indicator color, it changed correctly.
I don’t know why Jasco doesn’t want to give out complete information on the parameters. I asked Jasco about the earlier device you mentioned (I believe I was the one that added that device initially but I could be wrong), and they gave a very basic parameter list that did not include the indicator light color. Then I searched around the web and found more parameters including the color change. So I tried it and it worked. Why does Jasco hide that information from us?
FWIW there are probably two more parameters that could be added. Both are rarely needed, but 19 Alternate Exclusion - uses the menu button instead of the toggle and 39 Smart bulb mode (I think). Power is always on, relay off. Light is controlled separately.
