LG TV Serial Binding not responding after upgrade to OH 2.5

Hello everyone,
after being abroad for 1 year, I recently upgraded my openHAB installation using the config tool from the openHABian distro. Since then, everything is working fine except my TV thing from the LG TV Serial Binding, which is not usable at all. My TV (LG 42LV375S) is connected to a Raspberry Pi 3 with a rs232 USB adapter (Profilic PL2303).
I set the log level of the binding to TRACE, and got the following info:

On startup, the binding seems to work and succesfully queries the power state of my TV:

After that, the binding seems to stop responding. Any commands I send to the power channel has no effect. Also, when I try to disable the thing, the thing never reaches the disabled status and I get the following warning:

It seems to me that the binding is stuck and not responding. But the log is not showing any errors or warnings except the one I pasted above. Any ideas where the problem is? Or how to further troubleshoot this?

Is this related to a Breaking Change mentioned in the Release Notes?

LGWebOS Binding
The binding parameter 'localIP' has been removed. The binding now uses system defaults for network communication. The thing type parameter 'deviceId' is no longer a parameter, but a property. Parameters 'host' and 'key' have been added.

I don’t think so. The binding you are referring to is for network connected LG TVs. The one I am talking about is for LG TVs which are controllable via a rs232 serial connection. I assume that those bindings don’t have much in common.

I just did a clean install with the latest openHABian image. The LG serial binding was again not working. Afterwards did a downgrade to openhab2.4.0-1 and the binding was working again.

I conclude for now that my setup is fine and there is a bug in the binding. I will file a bug report in the github repository.
While this issue is not solved, I will stick to the Serial Binding, which works in OH 2.5.
