Lirc - TX-RX Transmitter InfraRred

Hi,

I’ve used an IR plug-on board (Pi-Mote IR control board - ENER314-IR | Energy Saving Products | Energenie) on an Rpi3. The pi is integrated via WiFi. I’m running Openhabian (OH2.2stable) on that same pi.

The below Tutorials were a great help to setup LIRC:

Notes to make IR shield (made by LinkSprite) work in Raspberry Pi 3 (bought from Amazon [1]). 
The vendor has some documentation [2] but that is not complete and sufficient for Raspbian Stretch. 
Following are the changes that I made to make it work.

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install lirc

# Add the following lines to /etc/modules file
lirc_dev
lirc_rpi gpio_in_pin=18 gpio_out_pin=17

I didn’t succeed with the LIRC binding, so I’m using the exec binding to send commands to the IR transmitter.
It’s working smoothly.
