Hi everyone,
is it possible to carry out Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates for Matter devices with openHAB 5? I am looking for a central and simple update system as e.g. implemented in Home Assistant right now: Matter - Home Assistant
Background: Keeping all IoT devices up to date is a painful task for everyone and right now involves partly complicated processes with different vendor specific apps and - if you have multiple subnets for different services - sometimes changing firewall and routing rules only for this process (my openHAB instance is connected to a dedicated IoT subnet that is not routed to my intranet to which my phone is connected). However, Matter supports OTA out of the box and - if implemented by the vendors - those updates can easily be handled by a central Matter controller (openHAB in my case).
Currently I am unaware of such a feature in openHAB. Does anyone know if it is already available of planned for a future release?
Thanks!
Chris
