Max! Cube always polling

I updated from OH 2.4.x to OH 2.5. Since this update I am having troubles with my Max! Binding. The cube is loosing all its settings (reset) after about 2-3 days of work. According to some posts here it seams that the cube runs in some overflow and kills all the settings.

I have noticed that OH is polling the cube constantly. Which I think might lead to the overflow in the cube.
My current config is
Exclusive Mode: false
Refresh Interval: 5000
Max Requests Per Connection: 100

As soon as I Enable the cube OH starts polling it

This problem with loosing settings is not new in OH2.5. It started in OH2.4. My Cube loose his settings in OH2.4 not in 2-3 day but in one Month. Therfore I’ve disable it in OH.

That’s not news at all and has been like that ever since. The cube is a really crappy piece of software.
Use exclusive mode in the OH binding is the best known way to avoid running into that.

Sorry for the late answer, I was out of town for the last 4 days.
@JMahmens: I had no issues while running on OH 2.4 so I thought people might found new causes.

@mstormi: Before I posted my question I have searched the forum. All entries I found where which just loosing setting but no one mentioned the constant polling. Some posts suggested to NOT use exclusive and the problem should go away. I tried, problem still exists. So I thought I post my log and settings in hope someone could make more of it as I can.

Does anyone know is there a report on Github for this problem? Or could anyone lead me in the right direction on what repo i should open such an issue?

There isn’t, and it does not make sense to open any because the problem is not with the binding or any other part of OH. Switching to exclusive mode once the cube config is broken does not heal it.
But when you use exclusive mode right from the start (i.e. after you have reinitialized your cube), the problem is most unlikely to occur.

Ok, thanks for the info about the repo.
My cube was running in exclusive mode since day 1. So I thought something might has changed since the update. Seams it hasn’t… I’ll close this thread than.

Maybe some background.

The cube memory getting corrupted/lost is something that is most likely a firmware bug/race condition.

It is not unique to openhab, but also is known/ reported to be on other automations platforms FHEM domotic etc. Even it the official app it can happen if you run long enough.

Nothing particularly changed recently in the binding so it is unlikely that is the cause.

Unless anyone can point out what the binding is sending wrongly to the device that causes this, it is considered a firmware bug and should be reported to eq-3 (the manufacturer) instead of here.

Best workaround appears to be limit the device communistic: exclusive mode + not to frequent refresh. Would also suggest to have refreshActualRate (Thermostat config) disabled.
