MCO Home switch MH-S314 not recognized

Hi,

My MCO Home switch (model MH-S314) is not recognized on my openhab system (version 4.3.1 on a raspberry pi 4 installed via openhabian).
There was a record for this model in the z-wave database, but it didn’t cover the specific device type and id of my device (7041:7102). As I saw that the properties configured in that existing record didn’t correspond with the technical documentation that came with my device, I created a new separate device record in the database based on the xml file of my device, which got approved in the beginning of November. I then waited for the next official openhab release (I recently updated to 4.3.1), but my device is still not recognized (the device is correctly connected with a green status ‘Online’, but the ‘Thing Type’ still says ‘Unknown Device’). I already tried removing and adding the device again, but that didn’t help.
Is there something more that needs to be done so my device would be recognized?

It looks like we’ve ended up with 2 devices with the same version range, and the same UID which causes problems.

Is your device the same as the older one? If so, the best thing would be to delete the new entry (I can do that) and add 7041:7102 to the existing device. If they are different, then we could either change the UID in the new one, or preferably set a version range on both the old and new entry.

Hi Chris, I created a separate device because the paper based technical specifications that came with my device were different than what was configured for the old device (different association groups numbering and different properties). Could be related to different firmware versions, but I couldn’t find back any info on versions for this device. So I guess the best solution will probably be to set a different UID for my device?

Since it seems to be the same model, probably we should (ideally) use different versions to differentiate this… However, that is always problematic since without info from the manufacturer it’s not easy to derive the required info…

So, yes, let’s just stick “something” on the end of the UID to make it different. We could use a, or 1, or if there’s something that differentiates this version and is only a couple of letters, that would be a good contender… I’ll leave it to you to make the change.

OK, thanks for your help! I updated the UID and submitted it for review.
