I am a long time Hue user. I quickly reached the maximum number of lights and got a second bridge. Back then, Hue did not have a way to support multiple bridges on the same account, so they suggested users to create a second account using the same login without the periods in the email address. Google would see them as separate, but Hue would see them as the same. So my.email.account@gmail.com could use myemailaccount@gmail.com and that would link the two bridges. Now that Hue finally came out with Hue Pro, I purchased the latest bridge in order to migrate to the faster bridge. Unfortunately, Hue removed the admin privledges to my.email.account@gmail.com and will not allow me to migrate my lights to the new bridge.
As others have found the first line technical support completely useless, I’m hoping someone has figured out how to migrate your main bridge without completely starting over. I currently have thousands of lines of code using my hue lights under OpenHAB so starting over would take months.
My my.email.account@gmail.com Hue account is listed as a “Member” for the “Home” bridge with no admin privledges to the bridge with over 50 lights.
My myemailaccount@gmail.com Hue account is listed as an “Admin” for the “Second Bridge” that has no lights.
There is no Hue account with Admin rights to my “Home” bridge.
