Migration to new RaspBerry Pi AND RazBerry to Z-WAVE USB Stick

Found this old thread which keeps some questions unanswered for me.

I started to use openhab years ago with a Raspi 3 and a Razberry 2. Because of OH 5 I switched to a Raspi 4 and just moved the Razberry shield to the new Raspi which is somewhat working ok but not perfect as there are issues ( [SOLVED] OH3 Z-Wave Serial Controller offline (RaZberry) - #29 by Wolfgang_Rosenauer ).

But in any case I’m thinking about switching to a USB z-wave stick just to become a bit more flexible in case something happens with my raspi or I want to switch to a VM or container or whatever.

And obviously I don’t want to reintegrate all things if I can somehow avoid it.

Above there is one proposal to backup the razberry via z-way and restore to UZB. Is that actually something which is supposed to work. Does anyone know, tried this before?

Would this work with other z-wave sticks (maybe not, right?)

Then there was another idea to connect the razberry with a usb-serial adapter and connect it then via USB if I understand correctly? Does anyone have a bit more pointers how this would look like?

Any other ideas or experience how to migrate?
